Tour de Yorkshire 2017
Pickering is was very fortunate to have been included on the route for the inaugural Tour de Yorkshire in 2015.
In 2017 the route passes right through Pickering on the first day of the tour. The route takes the riders from Malton along the A170 and then directly over the roundabout in Pickering to stay on the A170 towrds Whitby.
The route will chosen will make the roundabout in Pickering a focal point for the race with plenty of great viewing points, Whitby road also has a raised and wide pavement on the westward side which also makes it a fantastic place to see the race go by.
Pickering is also an ideal place to see the race before you head off to Scarborough to watch the finish - 2 for the price of 1!
